Nope… not rid of us… (un)fortunately...

Apart from the introsentence right above, this is going to be a serious blogpost. (at least before we freak out again)

We wanna tell you about the thoughts behind our project, cause we realized we might have confused you with all the drama around the Supervolunteers Juventeweekend.

So, this is what it’s all about:
Lets first explain the name of it.
Since we got nicknamed as the supervolunteers we thought that was a good way of introducing ourselves, and since we are volunteers working for Juvente it seemed to us as a catchy headline for the things we wanted to do.

And this is what we wanted to do:
Our idea from the beginning was to arrange weekend ”skoleringer” to strenghten ”lokallag”. On the beginning of the year we were sitting here at the office, analyzing the ”lokallag” all over the country in order to improve their work for the upcoming months. Then we realized some of the groups are struggeling with different issues such as: problems with creating and arranging activity, conflicts within the groups, leadership problems, lack of motivation and problems with planning, recruiting and so on…

So we decided to create something that could help you dealing with these issues.

This is how we were and still are planning to do it:

The first day is mostly about leadership and interacting with each other. About how to be a leader, what a leader is, how to deal with different situations that can appear and the relation between a leader and a group. Our working methods would be to involve you in different tasks to solve together and give you some concrete tips of what is good to consider in certain situations.

And now to the second day.
This day is about motivation. About how to do stuff, how to keep the interests for: Leaders, members and people about to become members or leaders. It also contains some things most of us don’t think about very often, such as bodylanguage, active listening, building bridges between the experienced members and members that haven’t been in the organisation for very long, so that everybody are getting benefits out of it. Our methods this day would contain things as: exercises and different roleplaying games, some kompis elements etc.

The third day is about putting the things you’ve learned into action, and save it in ways that can help the rest of the organisation, (Things like a book with tips of activities, blogs, posters, movies and so on) so that this weekend actually gave you something you can use in practise.

Some of the elements on this course are things you probably already heard of, and this weekend could be as developing for you as for your lokallag, since the things we’re doing are great for you to know not only as a member of an organisation but also as a human going through life.

The thing that makes it different from the other Juventeskoleringer is that: You have the experience. The thing we wanna do is to show you how to pass it on.
This means that the results of this weekend depends on you. Either you feel like you wanna organize some new things, try to do things in a different way, give others possibility to learn what you know and so on.

If you make things happen we will make sure it’s gonna be visible to the rest of the organisation.

How? Well... You have cameras... send us the pictures and movies... It might turn out to be a cd...
So, what happened? Tell us!
It might turn out to be a pamphlet with activities...
Tut-aksjoner might have posters... they could end up decorating the boring white office walls.

So: We start a thing together that is able to work even when we’ve come to the day where we no longer are called the volunteers.

There is a but though… From the beginning we planned to have several weekend courses, (here’s the but) however, time and economy reduced our possibilities to have as many courses as we wished and planned on having.

The new plan is therefor to have one big course in June, on a national level, but unfortunately still with a limited number of participants.

We’re not saying we can’t come and help your lokallag anyway, it’s just to give us a howl and we can try to figure a way to arrange either something similar where it’s needed, or whatever you ask for.

This means we actually have just enough time until Kontra, which is an excellent chance for you to present what you achieved and make it visible for the rest of the organisation.

If you have any question or suggestion: Hit us! (We DO wanna hear your opinion… unless we’re busy with taking a shower together with the toiletbrush or just poking youJ )

Hmm… Sorry to say that the next time we will be this serious might… take… a while… or two…

Good Luck! ;)

It's not allowed to kick on the computer

So... what's new for today?
Well.. one of us is preparing to speak Norwegian and the other one would really like to brake the computer...

We quoted Jeff-fafa Dunhaaam on our way to the office (as usual)
And realized how much we'll miss those crazy walking-in-the-city-making-weird-noises-details...

And now we have to go.... it's mooooooooo-office meeting.
But don't worry... this place is haunted so we'll be back!
