Crap! Serious again... (WTF?!)
As volunteers in Juvente we do hear a lot of the peoples opinions about all kinds of things... from how to clean the dishes to what people think of the local group in Egypt or Costa Rica...
This is a very good thing and we really enjoy that people wants to talk to us. It gives us a lead of what the member search for and need to make Juvente a better place.
We really became attached to the organisation and the people in it, and that's why we would like you to know something.
Juvente is a place where rumours seem to start without anything but one personal subjective opinion about another person. And another thing we noticed as two fresh pairs of eyes and ears is that Juvente is gliding apart because of personal issues.
People here seem to have the habit to take stuff very personally when they shouldn`t and are afraid of expressing their opinion. Instead, they rather just stay quite and pretend as if nothing is wrong.
Our question for you is:
You think this will make Juvente a better or worse place to be?
Many members in Juvente seem to be afraid of expressing their opinions in front of the people involved in the issue and rather want to pretend everything is fine and normal when something is really wrong.
The thing is that Juvente established certain patterns and everything/everyone that wants to create more and new possibilities are not accepted.
If Juvente really is the solidarity organization it claims to be, then how come people that are standing for equal rights and aiming for the same visions put their own benefit higher than the benefit of Juvente itself?
Juvente's strength lies in the members as a whole group where everybody's opinion should be considered and should be taken as such.
This means: You have the right to your opinion, but make sure it's clear it is yours and that your value is not less because someone has an opinion about you or the things you do.
To illustrate:
If you get critics, take it as a positive thing and advantage, not as a personal attack on you. Something made that person say that and if you think it`s unfair, ask why. We are all humans, after all. And if we in Juvente are friends, as we claim to be, then we should be honest to each other and at least try to be unselfish, cause the real friendships are about supporting and unselfishness.
If somebody comes and gives you their opinion about something, you should value it because it gives you the chance to change yourself to a better formed person and also to do a better job for Juvente.
We love this organization and the people in it but what we see is that it's dividing because it's easier to talk about someone than to someone if something is bugging us.
This blog post is supposed to unite something that shouldn`t have been divided on the first place, because we are taking no ones side but Juvente`s.
Remember: Everyone should have the equal chances in Juvente, there are no leaders without members and other way around.
And before you react, just try to put yourself in other person`s skin and don`t judge people before you hear all sides of the story.
Ok, we know Juvente is a huge organization with many members, but not everybody is included in every story, so we are not saying you need to hear over thousand stories :).
If you are still wondering why this is important, then just go and have a cup of coffee... It might help you understand some things ;)...
Think about it.
P.S.
The fact that both of us are having PMS does not mean we were grumpy or anything;). We care, so we shared! Is that ok? =)
Look at us! Do we look like we care? Ok, you can`t see us, but we DO! (Can`t you see the effort behind this blog post?)
Thank you! God bless you! :)
